Dorm Leader job description

In brief

  • Offer a good Christian role model to members in your tribe; caring, encouraging, and praying for members and, where appropriate, offering a spiritual challenge to them
  • Assist tribe leaders in ensuring responsible behaviour, but also to ensure that everyone has lots of fun!
  • Be a supportive team member, looking out for and caring for other leaders and members

To do what exactly?

  • Pray for and contact your members before Bridgwater
  • Lead Bible Breaks in your dorm, having thoroughlyprepared for these beforeBridgwater
  • Prioritise making time to chat to your members – get to know them and find out where they are spiritually and how they are finding the houseparty
  • Support tribe leaders getting members to bed and encouraging quiet
  • Sit with your dorm members at mealtimes and evening meetings
  • Join in with members on activities and ensure that no-one is left on their own
  • Take on other jobs, as required and to lead by example in group tasks, clearing up etc
  • Inform tribe leaders of any issues/concerns
  • Keep in touch with and pray for your dorm members after Bridgwater


  • You are the most important contact for your members: your relationship with God and to Bridgwater will be a key aspect of their time at Bridgwater
  • Your role will include concentrating on your members 24/7. You need to be aware there won’t be time to yourself or to spend with other friends on site

  • Your relationship with God will be really important as you serve Him and other people at Bridgwater
  • Look out for the needs of others and try to care for members and leaders with practical, emotional and prayer support
